I have lived in Berlin for 6 years and did not speak a word of German when I landed here. It is my 7th spoken language and it has been a challenge. During the 6 years I have had several trainers, however I only managed to reach the threshold where I was able to reach  the 'basic average' needed to get by as a 'tourist'. The Der Die Das remained a mystery. I inherited Frau Ruder as my German language coach 2 years ago and have since crossed this hurdle.. almost. She works with dedication that makes me want to be a better student and reach a level that I can say I am fluent in German. The content she covers is business related with a heavy twist of grammar which I definitely need. What I cherish most is that she does not give up and I can consider myself very fortunate to get a coach like her.

Ich wohne seit sechs Jahren in Berlin. Als ich hierher gekommen bin, konnte ich nicht ein Wort Deutsch. Also: Es ist meine siebte Sprache, und das war auch eine große 'Herausforderung' für mich. Seit diesen sechs Jahren habe ich verschiedene Trainer gehabt; ich habe jedoch nur 'Durchschnitt' erreicht. "Der, Die, Das" blieb mir eine Geheimnis. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich Frau Ruder als Trainerin bekommen, und ich habe seitdem diese Hürde übersprungen.Frau Ruder ist sehr engagiert, und ich möchte gerne eine noch bessere Studentin werden. Der Inhalt ist eine Kombination von 'Geschäftssprache  und Grammatik' , das ist wichtig für mich. Was ich am meisten liebe, ist, dass sie nie aufgibt, und ich bin sehr glücklich darüber.

Angelika became my German teacher following my move to Berlin from Wuppertal, where I had already started one-to-one German tuition. I had been very impressed with my first teacher and wondered whether I’d be lucky enough to find someone so good in Berlin. Indeed, how lucky I've been! It is a pleasure to learn German with Angelika from both a professional and personal perspective. She uses a wide range of different methodologies to keep the learning style stimulating and the themes cover a good mix of business, current affairs, culture and, of course, day-to-day living in Germany. However, apart from the excellent tuition, what I particularly value is Angelika’s endless patience and her ability to judge my energy levels on the day and tailor the lesson accordingly.  For this I am extremely grateful and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I moved from the NYC area to Berlin without any prior German language instruction, and since I was taking on new responsibilities in my career,  I needed a personalized, practical approach to learning. Since beginning lessons with Angelika two years ago, I have been continually impressed by her pragmatic approach to learning. Her individual approach makes learning both immediately relevant and useful, which is a strong motivator to continue studying.  In addition to her strong core competencies as a teacher, Angelika is also a delight to work with.  She makes learning the complex and somewhat complicated German language both personal and pleasant. Angelika est mon professeur d’Allemand depuis que je suis arrivé à Berlin en 2009. Alors que j’avais appris scolairement l’Allemand, Angelika a su adapter son enseignement pour réellement me permettre d’apprécier encore plus la langue et de la pratiquer plus aisément aussi bien lors d’échanges avec des collègues Allemands que lors d’occasions fréquentes de la vie courante. Angelika m’a aussi beaucoup appris sur l’analyse des differences interculturelles franco-allemandes, que son expertise en communication interculturelle lui permet de maîtriser parfaitement. Enfin, c’est un plaisir de discuter avec elle tant ses sujets d’intérêt sont vastes et brillamment commentés. Je recommande fortement Angelika sans aucune hésitation.

Angelika ist meine Deutschlehrerin, seitdem ich 2009 in Berlin angekommen bin. Da ich die deutsche Sprache in der Schule gelernt hatte, hat Angelika ihren Unterricht an meine Kenntnisse anpassen können und mir damit wirklich erlaubt, noch mehr die Sprache zu schätzen und sie leichter anzuwenden, während des Austausches mit deutschen Kollegen sowie während der häufigen Gelegenheiten des Alltagslebens. Angelika hat mir auch auf der Ebene der französisch-deutschen interkulturellen Unterschiede viel mitgeteilt. Ihre Expertise erlaubt ihr, die interkulturelle Kommunikation vollkommen zu beherrschen. Angelika es una maestra muy empática que preparó las lecciones de acuerdo a mis necesidades individuales específicas. Cuenta con una gran cantidad de diversos materiales para las lecciones que facilitan un aprendizaje efectivo e interesante.
